This is the health and safety criteria that I used when I was doing my shots in the studio.
Electrocution: Check for any damaged wires, report any wires that are damaged and don’t touch any that may be damaged or frayed. Make sure all pugs and sockets are properly pushed in to equipment, also do not have any liquids in the studio if spilt they may cause electrocution.
Trip hazards: Make sure there are no wires trailing on the floor and all cables are either picked up or if they are in use and not moving tape them down so no one can trip over them. The wire from the light to the camera, keep a constant check on were it is every time someone moves. Might even be worth using the wireless hub instead of the cable.
Flashing lights: Warn everyone in the room when you are going to set any flashes off either taking a photo or discharging the lights. Also ask if anyone has problems with flashing lights.
Blood: Ask if the person has any allergies before putting blood on to them, also only put a little on to start with to see if they have a reaction to it, if so wash off right away.
Elevation: I have to climb a table for one shot, I need to make sure the table is firm on the ground and does not rock also I had someone else in the room to foot the table and make sure it did not move when I got on to it and was working on it.
Dark: The room will be very dark at times due to low level lighting, when anything or anyone has to move I need to make sure there is a light on so that they dont trip or walk in to lights that are in the studio.
Hot lights: Make sure not to touch the lights when they are on or have been on as they will be hot, when I need to take something on or off the lights I must make sure they are cool or wear something on my hands to protect them from the heat.
Fan: I made sure that the fan was in good working order before I used it in my shots, I made sure that the front was on securely not wanting it to come off and expose the fast moving blades. I also moved it when it was turned off and there was no power going to the fan.
